Karen Suber, Owner & Teacher

Ms. Karen has been a Music Together parent since 2003, a licensed teacher since 2008, a licensed Center Director since 2009, and earned her Music Together Certification Level I certificate in 2011. Currently working toward her Music Therapy degree at SUNY Fredonia, she is also a community music events host, the mother of four (ages 16, 12, 10, and the now 7 y.o. in the photo!), a writer, a visual artist, and a hobby chicken farmer!

Having studied a wide variety of music disciplines in her life including piano, voice, guitar, drum set, theory, performance, and music therapy, her greatest musical joy began in 2003 when she took her first born to a Music Together class and let go of all that!

"I love sharing music with children and families for it's lively, impromptu and "no pressure" atmosphere.  Music Together has revitalized my own life's experiences with music, and brought me and the families I teach a great bonding experience, community experience, and joy! There's nothing better than getting in up to your elbows in a Music Together class.

Thank you to all of you who make my sharing my work possible!

- Ms. K.

Mariana Mathewson, Teacher

Ms. Mariana is a recent graduate of Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA with a B.A. in Music Education. She became a licensed Music Together teacher in June, 2018 and apprenticed with Ms. Karen (Yellow House Music) the same year. In addition to teaching Music Together, she is enjoying taking a “gap year or two” to learn outside of a regular classroom before pursuing her master's degree. She also teaches private lessons in cello and piano in Fairview PA, at Infinity Performing Arts, and from her home in Mayville.

"I love making music together with others! I am passionate about music, and making it accessible to everyone everywhere. I also love playing with children and infants—early childhood development is an area of particular interest for me! In my spare time, I can be found knitting, cooking, spending time with my friends and family, and hiking. My favorite color is blue, I laugh a lot, and am always ready for a nice cup of coffee. I am so excited to be teaching Music Together!"
